“A spiritual life doesn’t necessarily lead to tranquillity, to peace, or to a beautiful feeling about ourselves or about how nice it is to be together with others. The chipping-away process can hurt. It might mean being lonely in a place where you never wanted to go. It might lead you to a vocation you never sought. It might ask you to do uncomfortable things. Or it might ask you to obediently and routinely do comfortable things that are not very dramatic when you prefer adventure. The spiritual truth is that God is at work in each of us and in our communities and families. Often, the companionship of trusted friends allows us to see how God is at work. We can’t always see God’s activity by ourselves.”

Spiritual Direction: Wisdom for the Long Walk of Faith
FAQs
What is spiritual direction?
Great question! Honestly, it can be difficult to explain. A spiritual director, or companion, is someone who walks alongside you on your spiritual journey. As a spiritual director, I hold space for you to ask questions, wrestle with your faith, and ultimately grow in deeper connection with God.
Spiritual direction is not therapy, although there will be some overlap. We do not seek to solve problems or diagnose, but rather to experience the Divine Presence of God together, leading to a fuller discovery of self, others, and God. Spiritual direction offers a safe space to explore, question, discern, and live fully into who you are as a Beloved child of God.
Do I have to be a Christian to partake in spiritual direction?
Absolutely not! While I am a Christian pastor, spiritual direction is open to anyone wanting to experience and deepen their connection and understanding of the Divine.
What is the cost investment of spiritual direction?
This will vary from person to person. I offer a sliding scale of $50-$125 depending on your own needs, resources, and value of this ministry. Please fill out the contact form below to schedule a consultation and see if I’d be a good fit for your needs!
